This course is designed as a year-long course for students who speak Spanish at home and have little to no formal training. Our students complete the same type of assignments, use the same textbook and receive the same number of college credits as our University students, but also receive high school credit.

SPAN 226 Coordinator: Roberto Ortiz, M.A.
Roberto Ortiz designed and began coordinating SPAN 111 and 112 in 2022. In 2023, SPAN 226 was added to the Collegiate Academy course list. As the lead instructor for heritage courses at the University, he began to coordinate the SPAN 226 concurrent enrollment courses in 2024. However, he continues to assist as needed with SPAN 111 and 112.
