What will I learn in an international affairs degree program?
The international affairs program provides opportunities for you to explore diverse course options throughout the University and develop an area of expertise relating to your interests. You can take advantage of the diverse course offerings within the College of Liberal Arts as well as in other colleges at the University. International affairs students interested in environmental studies, geography, business, journalism, literature, economics or regional studies, to name a few, are encouraged to incorporate relevant coursework in these areas into their degree plans.
The flexibility built into the interdisciplinary international affairs program assists students in preparing themselves for advanced educational opportunities and professional careers in an increasingly interdependent world.
Areas of emphasis in the international affairs program
The Department of Political Science at the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ offers emphases in regional studies which focus on language coursework and the study of historical and political complexities of Asia, Latin America, North America, and Europe. The Department of Political Science also offers emphases in diplomacy, international environmental studies, international political economy, and law and organization studies.
The Department of Political Science at the ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ also offers a minor in Asian Studies as well as in Latin American Studies. Both minors incorporate language coursework and the study of historical and political complexities of those regions.

Our internship programs enable students to augment coursework with real-life experience. International affairs internships offer students the opportunity to explore potential careers in the field, network, apply coursework, build their résumé and receive academic credit.
