Research
Dr. Ridinger’s research focuses on behavioral and experimental economics, game theory, and strategic decision-making. His work examines a broad range of topics, including bargaining, investor decision making, consumer behavior, public policy, social norms, and incentives. Behavioral Economics Laboratory
Dr. Ridinger serves as one of the principal investigators of the Behavioral Economics Laboratory in the College of Business. He works in the lab alongside Federico Guerrero (Economics), James Sundali (Management), and James Leonhardt (Marketing).
The lab is an interdisciplinary research hub where faculty researchers and doctoral students conduct experimental and theoretical research in behavioral economics, judgment and decision making, game theory, behavioral finance, market dynamics, and neuroeconomics.

He actively advises, mentors, and collaborates with Ph.D. students across Management, Economics, and Psychology. He supports doctoral researchers through methodological training, collaborative research projects, and preparation for the academic and professional job markets.
Student research and training
Doctoral students in the Behavioral Economics Laboratory receive direct training across the theoretical and empirical research pipeline:
- Experimental research: Designing and executing rigorous in-person and online experimental protocols.
- Modeling and analysis: Developing advanced skills in data analysis, game theory modeling, programming, and econometric analysis.
- Scholarly communication: Co-authoring manuscripts and preparing scientific findings for submission to leading conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
